There are many exciting events planned around the community during this special time of renewal and coming together. Fall has many special meanings in our varied Indian traditions. For so many Native people, Fall is a time to come together, to reap the harvest, to celebrate and remember. BAAITS drum practice continues through the coming months. Please join our group as we honor the beautiful d rum we were given, and the great leadership of drum teacher Jaynie Lara. Next practices will take place Thursday evenings from 7:30 on- September 16th, October 7th and 21st at the LGBT Center.
A special prayer and healing ceremony is being offered by our friend Gene Hightower the evening of Thursday, September 23rd at the LGBT Center. Please see the calendar for more details, or contact Gene if you have questions:

The Berkeley Indigenous Peoples Day powwow will take place Saturday, October 9th from 12-6. This is an amazing powwow and BAAITS has always had an informational booth at it. If you would like to volunteer for the booth, contact Ruth Villasenor

The 1st Annual Two-Spirit Gathering in the New York area will be held the weekend of October 15-18. Please check out the calendar for a link to the planning website, and register ASAP if you want to attend.
